Carmen is the CEO of The Aguiar Group, which she founded in Bellevue in 1993. Before starting her firm over 25 years ago, Carmen worked with Ernst & Young LLP in New York City and Seattle. The Aguiar Group is an award-winning firm offering tax, financial planning, accounting, and consulting services to individuals, families, and small businesses locally, nationally and internationally. She enjoys strategizing with families to achieve their goals and desired legacy. Her involvement in the community and as a board member enriches her service to clients.
ACA| Accounting Manager
Kathryn brings a wide range of knowledge and skills to the Aguiar Group as a seasoned accountant. Her drive and attention detailed are unparalleled. Kathryn is married to her husband of 28 years, Doug and they have adult two sons James, and Tom. As a family they have lived, studied and worked on three different continents Europe, New Zealand and North America.
Kathryn graduated from the Bristol Business School and is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales. She is an International Affiliate Member of AICPA and WSCPA.
Kathryn started her career in accountancy and audit in the UK. Moving to New Zealand, she and her family then spent 6 years in Auckland, where she obtained additional membership to the New Zealand Chartered Accountants. The family then moved to Seattle in 2008, and proudly became US citizens.
In her spare time Kathryn loves to spend time with her family and various pets. She loves taking her dog hiking in the beautiful Pacific North West.
Director of First Impressions
Jordan is the Director of First Impressions for The Aguiar Group. She is the first face you will see upon entering the The Aguiar Group. She has a passion for client service and a drive to delight. Jordan comes to us with over 5 years of experience in client service. Aside from greeting and chatting with clients, Jordan also schedules appointments, mails documents and helps keep our website updated.
Jordan speaks Japanese and has lived abroad in Japan. In her spare time Jordan is usually singing karaoke, baking, or trying master new tricks on the aerial hoop.
Sarah is the Executive/Personal Assistant to Carmen, the CEO and President of The Aguiar Group. Sarah brings 20 + years’ experience as an executive assistant to The Aguiar Group. She helps to manage Carmen’s busy work and volunteer schedule.
Sarah leads a busy life outside of work with her husband and two children. She regularly volunteers in her community by way of her children’s school/PTA and the kid’s numerous sports teams/activities. When there is free time she loves to go camping with her family and friends and enjoy the outdoors.
As Office Manager at The Aguiar Group, Juliana helps manage the work flow of the office and helps keep all internal projects running on track. She works closely with the Director of First Impressions and Technical Services Administration Manager to oversee and ensure that clients are receiving the highest possible level of service.
Raised in Colombia, Juliana is fluent in both English and Spanish. When she is not managing The Aguiar Group office she loves, snowboarding, motorcycling, soccer and spending time with her family. As an animal lover Juliana has a passion for horseback riding. She has lived in over 5 countries and traveled to over 25 countries!
Chief Information Officer
11 years old when he moved from Colombia to New York
30+ years of marriage, with 23 of those years in the Seattle area
6 sports (baseball, basketball, gymnastics, fencing, soccer, track)
2 road trips across the United States, once in a Ford Taurus and once in a Mustang
Cesar is a “jack of all trades” both inside and outside of work. Arriving in New York from the faraway country of Colombia at age 11, Cesar learned how to be adaptable and successful in a wide variety of unfamiliar situations. His past work and extracurricular activities include coaching basketball and baseball, IT consulting, helping disabled patients, volunteering through his Church, managing an office, and fencing. Today at The Aguiar Group, you still find Cesar doing a broad variety of things: he deals with complex IT networks, manages office policy and procedures, practices yoga and Tai Chi, serves on local Boards, and attends to the needs of his 16-year-old son. We’re fortunate to have Cesar onboard at The Aguiar Group – an individual who can demonstrate success in a wide variety of areas.
Cesar is the Chief Information Officer at The Aguiar Group and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Technology Consultant. He specializes in network management and technical support, but he also serves the Firm internally by interfacing with clients, performing administrative tasks, and ensuring that the team is well-equipped with the latest technology.
In addition to his IT work, Cesar is actively involved in the community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Bellevue YMCA and volunteers regularly with the Bellevue School District. He is also the former chairman of the Washington State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a previous board member for the Bellevue Entrepreneur Center.
Cesar is fluent in Spanish and holds a Bachelor of Arts from The City University of New York.
Quality Control Specialist
Felipe is the Technical Service Administration Manager for The Aguiar Group. He oversees the processing of all tax returns, supports and increases the efficiency of the accountants, and helps maintain the highest quality of product and services to the clients.
Felipe was born in Bogota, Colombia. He is fluent in both English and Spanish. He is an avid sports lover, enjoys travel, and spending time with family. Aside from working at The Aguiar Group, he also works at Bellevue High School as a coach for the Varsity Softball team in the spring. In the winter he is the head coach for middle school basketball at the Boys and Girls Club.
Our firm is committed to service above self. We strongly believe in bettering our community through the sharing of our resources, financial talent and time. We look for opportunities to volunteer at local charities to strengthen our community ties. We have a passion for serving our clients and a drive to enrich our community with the talents our team has to offer individually and together. Some of our involvement includes the Bellevue YMCA, Bellevue Rotary Club, Bellevue High School and Girl Scouts of Western Washington.
